Loyola High School, Patna, is a Senior Secondary School affiliated to CBSE. It is a Christian religious minority institution founded in 1969. It is established and administered by the society of Montfort Brothers of St.Gabriel, Ranchi Province. The society of Montfort Brothers of St.Gabriel, which constitutes a religious society in the Catholic church was founded by French saint, by name, St. Louis de Montfort (1673-1716). The school was affiliated to Bihar school examination board since 1976 and to be in tune with the times, it switched its affiliation to central board of secondary education (CBSE) in 1993. The school was upgraded to senior secondary with effect from 01.04.2000. The manor object of this institution is to educate the youth in a spirit of service to the humanity. The institution’s priorities in education are not only scholastic excellence, but also formation of youth in discipline, hardwork, moral and religious values. These priorities are meant to prepare the youth for life, by promoting intellectual excellence, uprightness of character, emotional maturity, scientific temper, sprit of healthy competition, co-operation and sportsmanship through co-curricular activities to the needs and rights of others especially the poor, religious tolerance and national integration. This being a Christian religious minority institution, it primarily caters to the educational needs of Christian community, but is open to others also irrespective of religion, caste or community.
